Real user monitoring
Synthetic checks tell you whether a page works. Real user monitoring tells you how it performs for the people using it. A small JavaScript SDK reports page loads, Core Web Vitals, errors, route changes and session activity from real browsers.
- Install
- One script tag per site
- Web Vitals
- LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB
- Single-page apps
- Route changes tracked
- Sampling
- Configurable per app
What you get
Core Web Vitals
LCP, INP and CLS rated good, needs improvement or poor, with FCP and TTFB alongside, so you can find the pages that drag the score down.
DocumentationPage performance
Load and route timings per page, so a slow page can be traced to a slow resource or a slow route.
JavaScript errors
Uncaught errors and unhandled promise rejections, grouped so one bug shows as one issue with its count.
Funnels
Define the steps of a flow, such as sign-up or checkout, and see where visitors drop off.
DocumentationGeography and devices
Break performance down by country, browser, operating system and device type.
Custom events
Mark business steps from your own code, for example a completed checkout with its value, and use them in funnels and dashboards.
Getting started
- 01
Add an app
Under Web Experience, then Apps, add one app per site or property. Use the environment setting to keep production and staging apart.
- 02
Paste the snippet
Copy the snippet from the app’s Install panel, which already contains its ingest key, and place it before </head>.
- 03
Read the overview
Sessions and vitals appear within minutes. Lower the sample rate on very high-traffic sites.
Works with the rest of VerOps
Synthetics
Synthetic tests catch a broken journey before users do. RUM shows the effect on real visitors afterwards.
Learn moreDashboards
RUM health, funnel and user-flow widgets can sit on any dashboard.
Learn moreVera
Ask the assistant about RUM data in plain language, for example which pages had the worst LCP this week.
Learn moreWar rooms
RUM errors appear in the incident view next to traces and synthetic results.

Limits worth knowing
- The SDK does not record session replays (DOM recordings). Sessions are reported as page views, events and errors.
- RUM covers web browsers. There is no native mobile SDK.
